Disney Fort Wilderness offers plenty for the entire family to do during the camping  experience. You can go hiking on a forest trail or fish and swim in one of the many water  canals on the campgrounds. You can also take your kids on a horse and wagon ride or to the  archery range. In addition, every evening, you can watch a Disney movie under the stars in  an outdoor arena.  There are hook-ups for tents and RV’s, and log-cabin style buildings dot the premises.

Camping at Disney is also safer than camping at a traditional campsite. There are no dangerous wild animals at Fort Wilderness Resort; you will never have to start a fire to scare away wolves, bears, or other predators. The only other people you will encounter are other paying guests, and Disney staff is located on the campgrounds in case of emergency.

If you get tired of camping, Disney offers complimentary transportation for resort guests to  each of its theme parks. There are six parks accessible by bus: the Animal Kingdom, Epcot  Center, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney, and the Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach Water  Parks.

Disney Fort Wilderness offers horse and wagon rides, bike rentals, swimming, fishing, archery, and even an outdoor movie every night. Modern Bowie knives come in a wide range of sizes. Most often, the practical sizes are between six and 12 inches in length. For purists, this is also within the range that a knife can safely be declared as a Bowie knife. The other options on the market mostly represent smaller knives, which imitate the blade shape of a Bowie, or larger knives that are designed principally as novelty items for display rather than for practical use.

Most who have an affinity for the Bowie knife and who know a great deal about its origins consider anything under 6 inches to be something less than a Bowie. There are many knives, however, within the 4 to 6 inch range which have clipped blades, false edges and Spanish notches; some of the ways in which Bowie knives are typically recognized. The length, however, is integral to a knife being properly called a Bowie. Most people will agree that a Bowie knife starts at six inches. They get far longer.

A Bowie knife is usually thought of as being a bit longer than the average hunting knife, however. A clip-bladed knife of between 10 and 12 inches will be instantly recognized by most anyone as a Bowie. This harkens back to the early days of these knives. They were designed for fighting as much as they were for anything else. To that end, the blade needed to be long enough to be indisputably deadly.

Worse still, it will prove essentially useless for those applications. A six or seven inch Bowie, however, will still rival any modern blade in function and form. This is the strength of these blades: their practical design makes them useful for many tasks. All that needs to be changed is the length of the blade.
