By Cut Furos, May 1, 2010

A caribbean honeymoon is the dream of many newly married couples. The idea of romancing under a tropical moon and bathing in the beautiful water makes their wedding plans complete. Many families join together to present the newly married couple with this perfect honeymoon experience and choose one of the caribbean honeymoon destinations.

Whether one prefers an all-inclusive package that provides lodging, food, activities, tips, and taxes without additional charge or prefers to custom their own perfect honeymoon, there are destinations that will ensure every fantasy is fulfilled. The crystal blue waters of the Caribbean paradise all offer many activities, lush landscapes, pristine beaches, and awe-inspiring sunsets that enhance the romance that is already abundant in these locals.

Locations can also offer isolation or access to the hub of city life where one can dance, drink, and eat the night away. For those looking for the intimate island experience many select locations such as the Turks and Caicos Islands. This group of 40 islands have only eight that are populated, therefore, accommodations and access to city life is limited. Their 1,000 miles of coral reefs, however, provide some of the best scuba diving experiences in the world.

Choosing the resort for the honeymoon depends on the couples preferences. It might be a city with its bright lights and constant activities or it might be a resort facing the water with its long white beaches. Some places are rich with history and tradition. This is especially true with those influenced by the British and Mexican traditions.

The water of the Caribbean is so clear and beautiful one can swim with the fishes. It’s perfect, white sands extend from the shore out into the water as far as the eye can see. Staying in a resort, either on the mainland or one of the islands provides one with the chance for an adventure that few get to enjoy. Prices differ but good bargains can be had with a little search.

There is nothing more memorable than the perfect tropical setting and caribbean honeymoon destinations vary greatly not only in what they provide, but in the activities that can be enjoyed there. Regardless of which one a couple selects, however, they can be assured that their time together will be filled with perfect weather, beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, tropical foliage, and an experience that can not be replicated elsewhere.

All That You Wanted To Know About Italian Renaissance Art

By Fabio DeMartino, May 1, 2010

The Renaissance Movement first started in Florence in Italy. It was the right perspective of the artists of the 15th century that leaded to the renaissance, which represented ‘rebirth’ of the art, culture, Italian civilization and architecture that suffered a serious hindrance during the middle ages thus reviving the missing glory of the Italian art.

Filippo Brunelleschi takes the credit for having ignited the Art Renaissance Movement in Italy though he is not the most famous figure attached to it. He was an architect by profession and was responsible for setting down the scientific laws of perspective based on which the Renaissance Art in Italy flowered later.

Barring Giotto di Bondone, a famous name that features in the Christian art movement in Italy in the 13th century, art in Italy was always of a two-dimensional style.

Renaissance art in Italy rose to prominence as a result of the implementation of the laws of perspective which the artists followed to progress towards development. Slowly renaissance art in Italy began to fabricate pieces that reflected scenic nature and the real world to perfection.

During the ancient Roman period, art in Italy was more a tool of the state and it handled only religious matters under the favour of the Catholic Church. It was renaissance art that really opened out the field of art in Italy. Though religious themes occupied the center stage of the renaissance art in Italy, nature and the description of the world in reality found placement in the renaissance art in the later period.

Human form was reproduced to perfection by the artists of that period since anatomy was given primary importance by them. Donatello was a champion carver of the Renaissance period and his sculpture of St. George is attractive even today in Italy.

The 16th century is believed to be the zenith of the renaissance in Italy. Italy was awash with artists of such excellent quality, whose likes have never been seen since. Raphael, Michelangelo and De Vinci are three such personalities from the renaissance art movement in Italy who were all contemporaries of each other.

Renaissance artists in Italy by this time had gained celebrity status and were often demanded by the authorities of cities all around Italy who wanted these artists to create memorable works of art in their cities.

Art in Italy can no longer be labelled as religious in totality because it is no longer the preserve of the church to direct such things in a secular state. However, there are still Italian artists who deal with Christian themes. One such artist is Giacomo Manza who has been influential in the field of Christian sculpture during the 20th Century. The Bronze door of St Peter’s Basilica was made by Manza.

There are a whole host of interesting things to do in Venice. Read our guide to renaissance artists in Italy to know where to visit.

Lake Tahoe, Nevada Has Activities All Year Round

By James Harden, May 1, 2010

Lake Tahoe is undoubtedly one of the distinguished natural treasures of the United States. With consistently delightful conditions in both the summer and winter months, it deserves the portrayal given to it by Mark Twain upon originally setting eyes on the lake in 1861, “the fairest picture the whole earth affords.” The region is a paradise for hikers, skiers, and anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the unaffected splendor of America’s largest alpine lake. Lake Tahoe is situated on the border between California and Nevada, about a hundred miles east of Sacramento, California and 45 miles southwest of Reno, Nevada.

In the summer months, Lake Tahoe is a paradise for visitors interested in boating and water sports, as well as those who simply want to relax in the sun on the miles of sandy beaches. More energetic visitors can find endless possibilities for outdoor activities, including bicycling, golf, tennis, camping, horseback riding, rock climbing, parasailing, even hot air ballooning. Lake Tahoe vacation rentals are also widely obtainable during the summer months.

In the summer, when the sun shines 80% of the time, hikers find Tahoe to be heaven on Earth. There are an abundance of hiking trails throughout the region, traversing the mountains and valleys. There are a range of difficulties for all skill levels, and a diversity of trail lengths for rapid day hikes or longer multi day backcountry excursions. If you are new to hiking, guided backcountry hikes are to be had with provided meals, transportation, and abundant information about the lake and its natural environs.

Some of the most popular hiking spots include Eagle Falls and Eagle Lake, a somewhat undemanding trail of beginner effort which leads to a spectacular view of Eagle Falls. Emerald Bay Trail is a brief but steep trail leading up from the north region of Emerald Bay and ending at Vikingsholm, a replica of a Scandinavian castle. The Nevada Shoreline Trail and the Shirley Lake hiking trail are also popular hikes in the area.

In the winter months, Lake Tahoe devotes itself to the ski season. Thousands of visitors from California, Nevada, the United States and the world descend upon Lake Tahoe in the snowy months to contribute in some of the most scenic skiing to be had in the United States. The snow is dry and powdery, and the runs are breathtakingly beautiful.

Lake Tahoe has the highest concentration of ski resorts in North America and a fantastically long season from November to May, commonly lasting into the summer. Lift tickets are reasonably priced between $44 and $75 per day for adults and much less for children. There are in addition numerous Lake Tahoe ski lodges available for rent throughout the winter months as well.

The area has many ski resorts, including Heavenly Mountain, Alpine Meadows, Diamond Peak, Northstar, Kirkwood Mountain, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Boreal Mountain, Sugar Bowl, Donner Ski Ranch, Homewood, Mount Rose, and Squaw Valley, most famous for hosting the 1960 Winter Olympics.

Whatever your desired outdoor sport or recreation, or whether you love the snow or the sunshine, Lake Tahoe has something for everyone, every month of the year.
