Vacationing Along The Coast

By Thomas Clarke, February 1, 2010

Whenever someone visits the east coast on a vacation they tend to always lead to the state of Florida. Although Florida has a lot ot offer and is one of the largest tourist states in the whole US there is much more to the east coast than just this one state.

Lets move up from Florida and enter into Georgia. There is a lot to do in the \”peachy\” state and there is no lack of beaches. The city Atlanta has many local events, and have a sports team in football, basketball, hockey and baseball, therefore you can always catch some sort of a game no matter what season you are visiting. If you would rather visit a smaller city then be sure to check out the small town of Savannah.

Next stop would be South and North Carolina. These states also do not lack in beaches, but they are also home to many mountains and some of the most beautiful scenery. There is a lot to see and do in these states, and you can even stop at South of the Border, located in between the two states, for some family fun for all ages.

If these things aren\’t enough, keep moving up the coast and I am sure you will find even more great things to do. Virginia is the next stop and has plenty of things to offer a traveler or vacationer. It also puts you really close to our nations capital, Washington D.C. With all the monuments and museums in D.C., it could take a normal person weeks just to see every exhibit in the Smithsonian.

Then of course there is always New York. New York has many wonderful areas to visit and some small towns, but the main New York attraction is New Your City, a.k.a Manhattan. While staying in Manhattan you can take in a Broadway show, get ticket to see the Late night shows on television, visit Rockefella Center and much more more. NYC is the city that never sleeps so you will be able to find entertainment, food and fun no matter what time of the day or night.

Cheap flights are easy to get now at Expedia.com. International flights can get to be pricey, but with the best company, like Expedia, you can get amazing deals.

So Much To Do In One Fabulous State

By Thomas Clarke, January 30, 2010

The beautiful beaches of the Gulf of Mexico can be accessed at many points along the Gulf Coast. Florida is one long beach around the entire peninsula. About the only places that don\’t have great beaches are the island keys. It seems a little weird, but the keys are not the best beach destinations but they are great for other water sports and activities. Fishing, skiing, the traditional way and the jet version, scuba diving and sailing are all great activities while in the keys. The water is beautiful and the weather is warm and inviting.

While in Florida you will want to go to the southern most point and visit the Hemingway house. At the Hemingway house you will get to watch some odd six toes cats wondering on the premise. On the Atlantic side of the state you should visit the fabulous and famous Miami Beach. Venture further north and visit Cocoa Beach and its famous Ron Jon store that is open 24/7. Although Cocoa Beach is a tourist destination it is still a great place to visit whether you are looking to lay in the sun or surf.

There is more to Florida than just great beaches. There are many theme parks, including Disney, in the Orlando area. The east coast has Daytona Beach and along the Gulf of Mexico you can visit Tampa or Clearwater. All these destination are great for families, couples and friends.

Tampa is a fun city with plenty to do, for fine dining and sporting events, to world famous theme parks like Busch Gardens. Across the bridge is the Clearwater/ St. Petersburg area. Clearwater has one of the finest beaches in the whole state, with tons of white sand and plenty of sun and fun. There is so much to do there, that you might need more than a week to do it all.

Just south of St. Pete is Sarasota and Ft. Myers. In these areas you can find many great seafood restaurants and fine arts. A great place to visit in this area is the Ringling Museum which houses some of the greatest artwork anywhere. There are so many wonderful places in Florida to visit that you may want to rent a car and spend a week or two just traveling around visiting each and everyone of them.

You can find cheap airfares are great deals on expedia.com. When you travel for the holidays, getting a cheap flight can really make the whole visit much better.
