Juegos Trabajo Trabajar | Sailing – Anchoring Techniques

juegos When you go to sleep at an anchorage, one thing you will want to do is to wake up in the same place. In other words, make sure your anchoring equipment and techniques are safe and secure. You don’t want to be taking an unplanned excursion around your chosen anchorage, especially if there are other boats in the vicinity.

You probably know that you should let out as much anchor chain as you can, so that the chain lies horizontal to the sea bottom, and that your anchor should be of sufficient heaviness to keep your boat from dragging during the night.

However, even with the right equipment and the right amount of chain, there are still some little tricks and techniques you can keep at the back of your mind.

trabajo When you are on land, solitude becomes a difficult state to attain. Just sitting by yourself in the park, you are distracted by traffic noises, kids on skateboards and general passers by. There are few quiet places, perhaps a church is the only one left in an urban environment.

But out at sea, or even just on a lake, the sense of solitude and inner well being becomes much easier to experience. Being alone on a boat gives you time to think, as there is normally very little else to do. There is true silence, apart from the sound of the waves coursing along the side of the boat, and even that is more therapeutic than annoying. Just watching the endless ripples from a bow wave calms the troubled soul, and leaves you in your own private world. You are well away from the constant time poor burdens of everyday life.

trabajar One of the great joys of sailing is to finish your watch at sunrise, and watch the new day dawning with a cup of coffee in your hand. One automatically thinks of the song “Morning has broken”, and it takes on new meaning. The darkness of the night disappears through different colours ranging from black to orange, before the full glory of a new day is revealed. The whole seascape of sun, sky and waves intermingle in a glorious tapestry of light and colour. You look around, and there is no sign of any other human existence on the planet.

The simplest solution is to wind a rope several times around the tiller, then attach the two free ends of the rope to the stanchions, one on each side of the boat. Thus the tiller is locked in place.

A much more satisfactory method is to introduce a short length of shockcord to the rope on each side of the tiller. You can buy a bungy cord from a discount store, or if you are really cheap, use a part of the inner tube of a bike tyre.

This method introduces some give, and takes care of the sudden surges in tide or waves when moored or when sailing, plus any other kind of sideways knock which can occur. You can adjust the rope even further by introducing sliding toggles, like those used for tent guy ropes. You slacken them off in light winds, and tighten them up when the winds get stronger You can be published without charge. You can to republish this article in your website or blog.
